BYD, CATL Introduce 6C Fast Charging Batteries Soon

What?

BYD and CATL are set to revolutionize the electric vehicle industry with the launch of batteries capable of 6C fast charging. BYD is introducing the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Blade battery 2.0 in the second half of the year, supporting the impressive 6C charge rate. On the other hand, CATL is gearing up to release the Qilin Battery 2.0 by the end of the year, also equipped with LFP chemistry and 6C fast charging capabilities.

CATL recently made headlines with its Shenxing battery, enabling 5C charging and providing a 472 km range with just an 11.5-minute charge for the Zeekr 001. Shenxing Plus, with 205 Wh/kg energy density, was later introduced to power EVs with a range of 1000 km, charging at 4C. Li Auto also joined the fast-charging game with the Li Mega, featuring a Qilin Battery with 5C charging, boasting a 500 km range in just 12 minutes.
