Nio Hits 200,000 ES6 Deliveries Milestone

Nio recently hit a significant milestone with the delivery of its 200,000th ES6 electric vehicle. This achievement comes just in time for the one-year anniversary of the launch of the second-generation ES6 model. The company delivered the milestone vehicle to a lucky owner in Shanghai, where the ES6 has been a popular choice with over 31,000 units sold since 2019.

What?

The ES6, a part of Nio’s electric vehicle lineup, has been a key contributor to the company’s success, representing 39.5% of all Nio deliveries. The first-generation ES6 saw over 127,000 units delivered, while the second-generation model has already sold more than 73,000 units within the past year. Nio introduced the first-generation ES6 in 2018 and followed up with the upgraded version based on the NT 2.0 platform in 2023, with deliveries starting immediately.

Why does it matter?

The ES6 is currently offered in a single trim with a base price of RMB 338,000 ($46,650). Customers have the option to select either a 75-kWh standard range battery pack or upgrade to a 100-kWh long-range battery pack for an additional cost. Nio also provides a Battery as a Service (BaaS) model, offering a lower starting price of RMB 268,000 with monthly rental fees for the battery packs at RMB 728 and RMB 1,128, respectively. In April alone, Nio delivered 15,620 vehicles, bringing the total cumulative deliveries to 495,267.

How is it going to shape the future?

With the continued success of the ES6 and Nio’s overall delivery numbers, the company is solidifying its position in the electric vehicle market. As Nio expands its offerings and refines its models, such as the ES6, it is setting the stage for further growth and innovation in the EV industry. The emphasis on battery technology and service options like BaaS also highlights Nio’s commitment to providing customers with flexible and sustainable solutions, paving the way for a more eco-friendly and efficient automotive future. Nio’s milestone of 200,000 ES6 deliveries is not only a testament to its current success but also a promising sign of what lies ahead in the realm of electric vehicles.
