The Avatr 07 EREV crossover, a new model from Changan, CATL, and Huawei, has been officially unveiled in China, targeting direct competition with the Tesla Model Y. Previously known as the Avatr 15, this SUV is set to hit the market this year with a price range between 250,000 – 350,000 yuan (34,600 – 48,400 USD) before also being released as a fully electric variant. Avatr, a joint venture between Changan and CATL, involves a 40% stake by the state-owned automaker, over 17% ownership by the world’s largest battery manufacturer, and the remaining shares held by local investment funds. Huawei plays a crucial role as a key parts supplier in the Avatr project.
