New Wuling Starlight S SUV: August Launch Details!


The SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture is gearing up to launch the Wuling Starlight S in August this year. This new model, positioned as a “large-space SUV for home use,” will be available in both BEV and PHEV variants. With its recent unveiling of exterior and interior images, the Wuling Starlight S is ready to make its mark in the SUV market.

Why does it matter?

The Wuling Starlight S is based on SGMW’s Tianyu D platform and has already received its sales license in China. Boasting a distinct design language with a closed grille and unique “star-wing” 7-shaped headlights, this SUV aims to stand out from the competition. The PHEV variant will feature SGMW’s Lingxi plug-in hybrid system, while the BEV trim will come equipped with a 150 kW electric motor and lithium iron phosphate battery pack. Offering multiple battery pack options, the Wuling Starlight S ensures flexibility and efficiency for drivers.

Positioned as a compact SUV, the Wuling Starlight S presents impressive dimensions, including a wheelbase of 2800 mm. Sporting blackened window frames and roof racks, as well as chrome-plated elements for added flair, this SUV exudes style. Inside, the cabin offers a touch of luxury with leather wrapping on the center console, armrests, and door trims. The cockpit features modern amenities like a floating LCD instrument panel, a central control screen, and a D-shaped steering wheel, enhancing both comfort and convenience for passengers.
