Ørsted Installs World’s Largest Tesla Battery for Offshore Wind Farm


Ørsted has made a significant investment by purchasing a 300 MW Tesla battery energy storage system for the UK’s Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm. This system, known as the Tesla Megapack, will be situated at Ørsted’s onshore converter station in Swardeston, near Norwich, East Anglia. With a storage capacity of 600 MWh, equivalent to the daily energy consumption of 80,000 UK households, the battery will store excess electricity during times of surplus, helping to stabilize the grid and balance energy supply and demand.
